My computer's router is too fussy... when i use my good computer, which i normally dont, but when i do, i have to turn on DMZ in the router else i cant host no matter what. maybe trying this would work for you if everything else fails _________________

A router *IS* a firewall (mostly). What DMZ does, is it turns off all firewalling features for a single computer on the network, its equivalent to forwarding ALL ports for that computer.
The good: Games and apps that were getting blocked before now work.
The bad: The router is no longer protecting the computer that is in the DMZ. Its recommended that the DMZ computer at least have a good quality software firewall running. _________________ Regulators

Yea thats all correct, dmz is a last resort feature. Its sorta like having a direct connection without the router...
As for me its my only choice on one of my computers... i have 5... and my nicest newest computer will not... no matter what i do... it will not host a bz2 game without dmz turned off in router... the rest will work no problem and they all have the same exact settings which annoys me. _________________
